External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Greece on Saturday, where he was received by his counterpart Nikos Dandias. Jaishankar tweeted, ‘Greece is an important partner in our broader European Union engagement. The External Affairs Minister also informed about the formal talks to be held on Sunday.
The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, described the meeting of S Jaishankar as very important to add to the relations between Greece and India. According to local media reports, he said that I think this is an opportunity to take forward our bilateral relations.

Visit of Indian Foreign Minister after 18 years
He was received by the Foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Dandias on his arrival in Athens, the capital of Greece. During his visit, Jaishankar will emphasize on strengthening bilateral ties. He will take part in the meeting with the ministers. This visit of the External Affairs Minister is also very important for India because the Indian Foreign Minister has reached Greece after 18 years.
Will leave for Italy after Greece
According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, the Foreign Minister will visit Greece and Italy. On June 25 and 26, he will discuss bilateral relations in Greece. The ministry said that after the year 2003, that is, after 18 years, this is the first visit by an Indian foreign minister to Greece. After Greece, the Foreign Minister will leave for Italy.
Jaishankar will attend the G20 ministerial meeting in Italy. Let us inform that in 2017 the Foreign Minister of Greece had visited India. There is a bilateral trade of about $530 million between the two countries. Many Indian companies are present in Greece. These include 10 companies in sectors like IT and construction.
