Five rockets targeted the Iraqi Airbase at Bagdad on Monday. US troops (US Troops) were stationed at these bases. Iraqi Army informed about this. American bases are being targeted for the past several days. America has blamed groups related to Iran for these attacks.
There is no news of anyone being injured in these attacks in Al-Balad. A security officer gave information about this. The Iraqi army said that two rockets were also fired outside al-Balad, in which the houses of local civilians were damaged. However, no casualties were reported.
Attacks from both sides
Citing a security source, AFP news agency said that these rockets were fired from a village in the nearby Diyala province from the east of the base. No organization has claimed responsibility for this attack. In the past, American bases have been attacked many times in a row. On 3 March, an American subcontractor was killed in an attack on Ain al-Assad’s airbase.
US President Joe Biden called the February 25 attack a ‘warning’ for Iran. In this attack, the US destroyed a border depot in Syria. The Pentagon claimed that it was being used by Iran-backed militants.
US embassy attacked
The US embassy in the high-security green zone of Baghdad, Iraq’s capital, was attacked with three rockets on February 22 last month. However, two rockets did not fall in the green zone and fell in the residential areas and one rocket fell in the green zone. This is the third attack within a week at a location in Western countries in Iraq.
Tension in US-Iran on the nuclear deal
Let me tell you that tension has been going on between the US and Iran for a long time on the nuclear deal. The US Trump administration unilaterally separated its country from the nuclear deal in 2018. In this agreement, Iran agreed to limit uranium enrichment in lieu of easing of economic sanctions.
When the US re-enacted some sanctions and imposed other sanctions, Iran slowly and publicly violated the limits set for its nuclear development in the agreement.
