In the South China Sea, China has deployed large scale ships operated by Militias. The Philippines has objected to this.
Chinese ships sighted in the waters of the Philippines
In the South China Sea, the dragons of ‘Dragon’ continue. The Philippines has said that hundreds of Chinese ships being run by Militias in the South China Sea have spread in the region on a large scale. In this way, China has rejected the Philippines’ demand to remove its fleet of ships from the region. The Philippines termed the presence of Chinese boats in its 200-mile Special Economic Zone in Whitsun Reef as herds and threats.
Canada, Australia, America, Japan and other countries have expressed doubts over China’s intentions about the activities being carried out in the region. On this, China reprimanded these countries. Chinese diplomats have said that the boats are taking refuge from the turbulent sea and there is no militia in them. The Philippines’ Task Force on the South China Sea issued a statement expressing deep concern over the continued illegal presence of Chinese maritime militias. This marine fleet has not been removed from here yet.
Will not accept China’s antics: Philippines
“Neither the Philippines nor the international fraternity will ever accept China’s claim of unquestioned unified sovereignty in the South China Sea,” the task force said. It asked China to remove its ships from here as soon as possible. The Philippines’ friendship with China has grown since President Rodrigo Duterte took power in 2016. Regarding this, opposition leaders say that they are playing with the security of the country. This is the reason why there is pressure on Duterte’s government to show strict attitude towards China.
Hundreds of ships have presence in South China Sea
The task force of the Philippines, citing information gathered through its intelligence sources, said 44 ships were still in the Whitson Reef and around 200 others were scattered around the Spratly Islands. Apart from this, ships are also present near the militarized man-made islands of China. Four boats of China have been seen here. The Chinese embassy in the capital Manila has not commented on the matter.
