Bubonic Plague in Congo: The world has not yet been able to get rid of the corona virus epidemic and now the risk of another disease has increased. The name of this disease is ‘bubonic plague’. In the African country of Congo, 11 people have died and 15 cases of the disease have been reported so far (Bubonic Plague Affected Areas). The death resulting from this is also called ‘Black Death’. A person suffering from bubonic plague has blood transfusions. This disease is more contagious and dangerous. Which spreads to humans through mice.
All 15 cases have been reported from Ituri province located in the northeast of the country. The health department of the province says that 11 people died from April 23 to May 8. According to the report of the British website The Sun, Doctor Luis Shulo, director of the health department of Ituri province, says, “People with the disease have headaches, coughs, fever and vomiting of blood.” The first death from this was that of a woman in Fataki (Bubonic Plague in Hindi). A week later, on 30 April, another 30-year-old man died, he too had the same symptoms of the disease.
Treatment of four people continues
According to the report, ‘another person died on 8 May’. In recent years, this country has also faced the Ebola epidemic. Shulo says, ‘We were alerted only when five people belonging to the same family died in this area. After this, two more people who attended his funeral were killed. Then on May 19, four more deaths were detected (Bubonic Plague Symptoms). The slain doctor who treated the victims is also among the dead. Presently, four people suffering from the disease are undergoing treatment. People are being asked to apply masks, follow social distancing and avoid shaking hands.
Cases were also received last year
In the last year too, cases of bubonic plague were reported from Ituri itself. Then 461 cases of the disease were found here and 31 people died. The World Health Organization has described the symptoms of infection as ‘flu-like’. The symptoms of which occur within one to seven (Bubonic Plague Symptoms). The patient suffering from the disease starts having cramps, chills, fever, headache, weakness and fainting. The death rate in this is 30 to 60 percent. It also spreads through insect bites called flea. The same disease spread in Europe hundreds of years ago, in which a large number of people died. Due to which it is known as Kali Death.
