The United States, India, Australia and Japan have come together to end the Corona epidemic. Top leaders of the four countries have jointly announced the Quad Vaccine Initiative at the first meeting of the quadrilateral grouping. Under this, India will manufacture the American vaccine and Japan will fund it for this. Once the vaccine is ready, Australia’s logistical support will be used to supply countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the plan, a target has been set to produce around 100 crore vaccine doses by the end of 2020 next year.
Apart from this, three working groups were also launched – Quad Vaccine Experts Group, Quad Critical and Emerging Technology Group and Quad Climate Working Group. According to the report of the Indian Express, in the first meeting of the grouping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison held talks through video conferencing.

100 crore vaccine to be made in India by the end of 2022
The four countries decided to work together to make the vaccine available to other countries of the world, while ensuring the availability of the Corona vaccine for their citizens. According to the factsheet released after the meeting, Biological will work with E Limited to finance. Biological E Ltd needs finance for the capacity to produce 100 million vaccines by the end of 2022 next year. Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine will also be prepared in this. The vaccine will be prepared according to strict regulatory authorization or / and WHO’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL). According to Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Singla, it was decided in the virtual meeting that India’s manufacturing capacity can prove to be very helpful in increasing the production of American vaccine.
Quad Climate Working Group to be formed for Paris Agreement
At the meeting, the Clement Challenge was placed on the Priority in the Quad countries and the Asia-Pacific region. For this, a quad climate working group will be formed. This group will cooperate with the Quad countries and other countries in implementing the talks of the Paris Agreement. Explain that the issue of climate change is in the top priority for the Biden administration. This group will work to promote low emission technology.
Will work together on technology
The quad leaders involved in the meeting felt the need for such technology for the Asia-Pacific region which is in accordance with mutual interests and values. For this, a Critical and Emerging Technology Working Group will be formed. This group will make rules regarding technology design and development. The four countries talked about increasing mutual cooperation on deployment of telecommunications deployment, diversification of equipment suppliers and future telecommunications. Private sectors and industry will also be included in this.
