In Italy, severe lockdown has been imposed in half of the country when Coronavirus infection cases again increase significantly and hospitals go out of control. Schools, university-level hostels and retail shops in nine areas have been closed on Monday. In the autonomous Trento province, only food is allowed to be packed and transported from the restaurant.
From Lambardi in the north to Puglia in the south, as well as the Lajia zone around the capital Rome between them, has been declared a ‘red zone’. The rest of the country is kept in a mild ‘Orange’ level lockdown. However, Sardinia is in the ‘white’ zone and her credit goes to her ability to control new clusters after the new corona virus was exposed.
Increasing cases in Europe
This new corona virus was first reported in Britain. The Health Ministry assesses each week on the basis of infection rate, hospital capacity and other parameters and puts individual areas in different level restrictions. In the past days in Europe, the cases of corona which came out in a week had crossed the one million mark.
At the same time, many European countries have also temporarily banned the AstraZeneca vaccine, due to which there have been cases of recent blood clots. In Norway, health officials on Sunday put a temporary moratorium on the vaccine after serious cases of blood clotting occurred following the AstraZeneca vaccine to protect against COVID-19 in Norway.
European countries banned AstraZeneca
Following reports of blood clots taking place after AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine, several countries in Europe announced on Friday to stop using the vaccine for some time while Germany gave information about continuing the vaccination. Denmark first banned AstraZeneca’s vaccine after reports of blood clot formation among some people. After this, Norway, Iceland and Bulgaria also took similar steps.
