US Will Send Covid Vaccine Taiwan: The US said that it would provide the COVID-19 vaccine (US Helps Taiwan) to Taiwan. Taiwan will be given 750,000 doses of the vaccine as part of President Joe Biden’s move to provide millions of vaccines. Three MPs have told about this on Sunday. Taiwan has complained that China is obstructing its efforts to obtain the vaccine amid the pandemic. Tammy Duckworth, a Democratic Party lawmaker from Illinois who arrived in Taiwan with two of her aides, said the visit demonstrated bipartisan support for the democratic island.
Duckworth said, ‘We have come here as a friend because we know that Taiwan is facing a challenge right now. That is why it becomes especially important for the three of us to be here bipartisan. Dan Sullivan, a Republican lawmaker from Alaska and a member of the Armed Services Committee, and Christopher Koons, a Democratic lawmaker from Delaware and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, also arrived in Taiwan on Sunday (China Taiwan US).
foreign minister welcomed
Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu welcomed the three lawmakers at the airport and said he was “honoured” to welcome them and thanked them for their cooperation. He said, ‘Taiwan is facing a different challenge in the war against infection (Taiwan on US Help). We are trying our best to import the vaccine. To ensure that these life-saving medicines are available to us without any hindrance to Beijing, we have to overcome the barriers.’
China stopping foreign aid
He alleged that China is constantly obstructing the way of foreign aid to Taiwan and preventing it from participating in the World Health Organization (Taiwan on China). “We are not unaware of such hindrances,” he said. Wu said Taiwan is fortunate to have the support of like-minded countries and is helpful in maintaining the country’s independence and democracy in response to dictatorships.
