Xi Jinping Visits Tibet: Chinese President Xi Jinping has visited the Tibetan city bordering Arunachal Pradesh amid the ongoing tension with India. This city named Nyingchi is strategically very important. This information has been given in an official media report on Friday. According to China’s official news agency Xinhua, Xi arrived at Nyingchi Mainland Airport (Nyingchi in Tibet) on Wednesday. Here he was welcomed by the local people and officials. It is being said that this is his first visit to Tibet after assuming power in the year 2011.
Xi then visited the Nyang River Bridge, which is called Yarlung Zangbo in Tibetan, to inspect ecological conservation in the basin of the Brahmaputra River. Talking about Nyingchi, it is a city in Tibet, which is adjacent to the border of Arunachal Pradesh (China Arunachal Pradesh Border). China claims Arunachal Pradesh and claims it as part of southern Tibet, while India vehemently rejects its claim. The India-China border dispute involves the 3,488-km Line of Actual Control (LAC).
First bullet train started in Tibet
Chinese leaders also visit Tibet every day, but Xi, who chairs the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission, is the first senior leader to visit Tibet in years. Earlier Nyingchi came in the news when China introduced the first bullet train in Tibet (China Arunachal Pradesh Bullet Train). This train connects Lhasa, the provincial capital of Tibet with Nyingchi. It has a speed of 160 kilometers per hour and the train runs on electricity covering 435.5-km area.
Railway is strategically important
Earlier, about this train, Xi has said that it will help in securing stability. He was referring to the border with Arunachal. If China has a conflict with India, then this railway line will be of great use to it strategically. China is engaged in developing infrastructure here (Railway in Tibet). Along with the rail, he has started work on repairing the roadways as well. It has constructed a strategically important highway. Which connects Medog County and shares its border with Arunachal Pradesh.
