Meanwhile, the situation worsened when a fire broke out in the western part of the country. During a press conference, Premier John Horgan told that there have been 62 incidents of fire in the province of British Columbia within just 24 hours. “There is a risk of fire in almost every part of British Columbia at this time,” he said.
Lytton, located 250 km from Vancouver, is also suffering a lot. Local MP Brad Wynne said, “Lytton continues to suffer damage and 90 percent of the village has been burned (British Columbia Province Fire). These also include those places, which fall in the center of the city. On Wednesday evening, 250 people of the village were shifted to a safe place. That too at a time when a record level of 49.6 °C has been recorded in Canada.

Later people from many other places of Litton were also shifted to another place safely. Giving information in the matter, Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan said, ‘The last 24 hours have been very difficult for the residents of Liton.’ He also said that Canadian security forces have been sent to support the people in this difficult time (Fire in Canada Villages). At the same time, officials in this province said that they have not received any information about any death or injury due to incidents related to the fire.
There was also a fire in many places in Kamloops
Other fire-related incidents have also been reported in Kamloops, 150 km northeast of Lytton. Earlier on Thursday evening, the British Columbia Fire Administration said that due to dry and hot days, there could be further problems (Canada Heatwave). At the same time, Environment Canada issued a bulletin saying that for the next few days in British Columbia, the temperature will rise to a record level. However, people have been asked to take precautions to avoid the heat. Apart from western Canada, temperatures are also being recorded at record levels in Washington and Oregon of America.
