Broadcaster Simon Thomas has thanked hospital employees following the start of his child daughter, who arrived eight weeks untimely after his spouse grew to become “rapidly ill”.
“Not everything in life goes quite according to plan,” Thomas wrote in a submit on social media as he shared an image of his spouse Derrina and the new child on the Stoke Mandeville hospital in Buckinghamshire.
The start of his child daughter comes 5 years after he misplaced his first spouse, Gemma, who died simply days after being recognized with acute myeloid leukaemia.
Following her demise, the previous Blue Peter and Sky Sports presenter spoke passionately on tv and social media about grief and psychological well being, and supporting their son Ethan by way of the aftermath of dropping his mom, and went on to turn into a president of the Blood Cancer UK charity.
He married his spouse Derrina in July 2021, sharing an image from the day on Instagram with the caption: “Love. Wins.”
Announcing the start of their daughter simply over a yr later, he stated Derrina had fallen in poor health and used the hashtag “pre-eclampsia”.

Thomas stated the child could be in hospital “for the next few weeks; but we have the best team around us”.
He added: Thank you Stoke Mandeville, thanks #nhs for being there for us and thanks God for blessing us as a household a lot.”
