In Italy, a boyfriend conspired against his ex girlfriend for an acid attack. Not only this, he gave betel nut to a hitman, for which he used the dark web. Italian police said on Wednesday that they arrested such a person, thwarting a dangerous conspiracy. Police said that he wanted to ‘handicap’ his ex-girlfriend and hired a hitman from the Dark Web to attack her with an acid attack.
The police in Rome termed the plot as a ‘thriller film’, saying it was the first time they had succeeded in curbing the gender violence crime on the Internet. The suspect is an IT expert who works for a large corporation. The police have detained him and charged him with ‘serious bodily injury and attempt to chase’.
The deal was done for $ 11,900
Police said in a statement that he wanted to be wheelchair-bound to his ex-girlfriend. He agreed to pay Hitman with bitcoin. He had paid in advance and the hitman was soon to complete his work. The Italian news agency AGI quoted a court document that the deal with Hitman was settled for around 10,000 euros ($ 11,900).
Investigation started in February
Police said they launched the investigation in February after an alert was issued via Interpol by colleagues in the European country, who first detected suspicious conversations on the Dark Web. In recent years, there have been many cases of violence against women in Italy, including acid attacks and murders.
According to the National Statics Institute Istat, her recent statistics on the subject suggest that out of 111 women murdered in 2019, 55 were killed by her husband or current boyfriend, while 13 were killed by her X.
