Dubai: India’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sanjay Sudhir said that the bodies of two Indian nationals killed in a drone attack on Monday in Abu Dhabi are on Friday. On January 17, explosions in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi caused “small flying objects” (presumably drones) to fall on three petroleum tankers, killing two Indians and a Pakistani national. While six others were injured, all of them employees of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack. India’s Ambassador to the UAE Sanjay Sudhir said that the Indian mission in the UAE capital has completed all the formalities related to sending the bodies of the two Indians to India. Sudhir had tweeted, “The bodies will reach Amritsar tomorrow morning (Friday). We highly appreciate the cooperation of the UAE Government and ADNOC. In touch with the Punjab government for local support.”
