A daily newspaper in Australia ‘The Australian’ has published a report on the situation arising in India regarding Coronavirus in India. This report has given a very shoddy and controversial title. The report is titled, ‘Modi pulled India out of lockdown … and pushed it towards an apocalypse’. The Indian High Commission in Australia has strongly condemned this report of ‘The Australian’ newspaper. The High Commission has called this report baseless.
This report of ‘The Australian’ is also available online. In this, thousands of people have been blamed for the increasing cases of corona in India, attending the election rally, allowing the Kumbh Mela, ignoring the advice of experts on more contagious variants, and the lack of medical oxygen and vaccines. Acknowledging the potential impact of mutated Covid virus, the report mentions government policies, nationalist politics, slow pace of vaccination, poor health system and publicity rather than prevention.
Urge @australian to publish the rejoinder to set the record straight on the covid management in India and also refrain from publishing such baseless articles in future. @cgisydney @CGIPerth @cgimelbourne @MEAIndia https://t.co/4Z3Mk6ru3W pic.twitter.com/4bgWYnKDlB

High Commission accuses the editor of tarnishing India’s image
The High Commission of India wrote a letter to ‘The Australian’ editor Christopher Dore on Monday. In this paper, he was accused of publishing a report written with the sole aim of reducing the better approach taken by the Government of India to fight the epidemic. The letter gives information about all the steps that the Government of India has taken to fight Corona. These steps refer to the implementation of the lockdown in March last year, from the vaccination campaign.
Millions of people saved from India’s ‘vaccine diplomacy’
The High Commission letter said, India has done the upgrade in record time to improve the investigation and health facilities. Because of this millions of people have been saved and appreciated by the global community. The letter also mentions the ‘vaccine diplomacy’ of the Government of India and the export of safety equipment. Also, it has been claimed that due to this, the lives of millions of people around the world have been saved. The Prime Minister of India and a religious gathering have been blamed by ‘The Australian’ for the increase in cases. The High Commission has strongly criticized it.
