In view of this, six countries including Denmark, Norway and Italy have banned the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Now the investigation of the side effects of the vaccine has been started.
Danish health officials said that blood clots have been seen in some patients after vaccination, so the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been stopped for the time being. Health officials issued a statement saying, “This step has been taken after reports of serious cases of a blood clot in people after the introduction of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine.” However, it was definitely said in the statement that it is not yet determined that there is a link between the vaccine and the blood clot. But the investigation is on.

Earlier, Austria announced on Monday that it has banned the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine. It was told that the 49-year-old nurse was vaccinated, but only a few days later, blood clots began to accumulate in her body, which became the reason for her death. On the other hand, four other European countries have also banned the AstraZeneca vaccine. Four other countries that have banned the vaccine include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Luxembourg. The AstraZeneca vaccine has been sent to 17 European countries. So far, more than 1 million doses have been sent to these countries.

The European medicine watchdog ‘European Medical Agency’ (EMA) has defended the AstraZeneca vaccine. It said initial investigations have revealed that the batch of AstraZeneca vaccine used in Austria was not possibly blamed for the nurse’s death. The EMA said that till March 9, more than 3 million people were vaccinated in the European Economic Area. Out of these, only 22 people were found to have blood clot cases after vaccination.
One person died in Denmark due to a vaccine
However, Denmark does not appear to be satisfied with this statement by the EMA and has stopped the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Soren Brosström, director of the Danish Health Authority, said, “It is important to state that we have not prohibited the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, but we are only stopping its use for the time being.” One person has died after being vaccinated in Denmark. At the same time, the EMA has started an investigation into the death of this person.
