A rare diamond has been discovered at the Nyurba Mining and Processing Department of ALROSA in Yakutia, Russia. A second diamond is present within the diamond discovered here.
The second diamond inside the diamond has been found in Russia
A very rare type of diamond has been discovered in Russia. Actually, a second diamond has been discovered inside a diamond. It has been told that this diamond can be 80 million years old. This diamond is named the Matryoshka diamond because it looks exactly like the traditional Russian Matryoshka doll. Many of these dolls are placed inside another doll in descending order.
Experts have not yet been able to find out how this strange diamond is prepared. But he is quite sure that this is the first such case in the history of global diamond mining. Oleg Kovalchuk, Deputy Director of Research and Development Geological Enterprises of ALROSA, said that as far as we know, such diamonds have not been found in the history of global diamond mining. He said that this is really a unique creation of nature. Usually some minerals take the place of others, but they do not leave their place.
Both diamonds are of so many carats
It is not clear how much this unusual diamond could cost. The diamond was mined in Yakutia at the Nyurba Mining and Processing Department of ALROSA. The structure of this diamond is quite complex and the outer diamond weighs only 0.62 carats. At the same time, the weight of the second diamond is about 0.02 carats. The other diamond trapped inside is flat. The second diamond was discovered during the diamond investigation. Experts are now examining this diamond in many ways, including X-rays.
…so because of this these diamonds are connected to each other
Based on the analysis of the diamond, the researchers suggested that the diamond inside was the first to develop. Not only this, there is also enough space for air to stay between the two diamonds. Oleg Kovalchuk said that right now we have two main ideas. According to the first version, a mantle mineral captured a diamond during its evolution and later dissolved into the Earth’s surface. He said that according to the second version, a layer of polycrystalline diamond material was formed due to the rapid growth. Which later dissolved due to the mantle process. Because of this one diamond went inside another diamond.
