Washington: US President Joe Biden has said that the US would intervene if Russian President Vladimir Putin entered the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries. Biden insisted he would be encouraged if his Russian counterpart was not stopped now. Biden said he had no plans to speak to Putin, but spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and assured him that the US would provide humanitarian relief to ease the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
“If he (Putin) enters NATO countries, we will intervene,” Biden told a news conference at the White House on Thursday. I am sure of only one thing that if we do not stop them now, they will be encouraged. If we don’t impose strict sanctions against them now, they will be encouraged.” Biden also announced the imposition of several major sanctions against Russia during this period. In response to a question, he said that it has taken the form of a big struggle.
