Beijing: Despite the tough approach of “zero tolerance” to deal with the COVID Pandemic in China, new cases of corona virus infection are being seen. On Monday, 214 new cases of infection were reported in China in the last 24 hours, of which the maximum number of 69 cases came in southern Guangdong province, which borders Hong Kong. Thousands of new cases are coming to Hong Kong every day.
In China, in the last 24 hours, 54 cases were reported in Jilin Province and 46 in East Shandong Province. The country’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang said in the annual report on Saturday that China needed to “continue to take measures to control the epidemic” but gave no indication that Beijing may relax any ‘zero tolerance’ strategy. Li called for speeding up vaccine development and “strengthening epidemic controls” in cities where travelers and goods come from abroad.
