During this period, 385 Taliban fighters have been put to death in the actions taken in different parts of the country. Since the announcement of the withdrawal of American and NATO troops, the wave of violence in the war-torn country has intensified. The extremist organization Taliban has captured many parts of the country. In addition, there is an ongoing war between the Taliban and security forces over the capture of major cities.
Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry tweeted, ‘During the last 24 hours, Afghan National Defense Security Forces in Nangarhar, Logar, Ghazni, Paktika, Maidan Wardak, Kandahar, Herat, Farah, Jozjan, Samgan, Helmand, Takhar, Baglan and Kapisa provinces 385 Taliban fighters were killed and 210 others were injured as a result of these operations. The army is constantly resorting to air strikes to push back the Taliban. In addition, special commands have been put on the battlefield to fight Taliban fighters. At present, fierce war is going on in different parts of the country.
The Taliban took the first provincial capital from the government
Meanwhile, the Taliban has captured the city of Zaranj in Nimruz province of Afghanistan. Thus, Zaranj became the first provincial capital that the Taliban took over from the Afghan government. This is like an alarm bell for the government, because the Taliban will now move rapidly to other capitals. The province’s deputy governor, Roh Gul Khairzad, said the city of Zaranj, the capital of Nimroj province, had passed into the hands of the Taliban. He said that this city bordering Iran in southern Afghanistan is under Taliban control.

At the same time, the Taliban have captured the city of Zaranj at a time when they shot dead the director of the country’s state information media center just yesterday. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told The Associated Press that the group’s fighters killed Dawa Khan Menapal, who ran the government’s press campaigns for local and foreign media. The Taliban had already said it would now target senior government officials. Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists.
