Opposition Leaders Detained in Russia: Police of Russia has detained around 150 people. A meeting of independents and opposition leaders was held here on Saturday in the capital Moscow, from where they have been detained. They are accused that they are in contact with an organization which can create problems for the country. This information has been given by a group monitoring and TV station. These people have been detained at a time when the case of opposition leader Alexei Navalny has not cooled down yet.
Alexei Navalny has been sentenced to more than two years. He is one of the biggest critics of President Vladimir Putin. There were violent protests all over the country since he was imprisoned. In order to pacify these protesters, the police made a large number of arrests and violent actions were taken to silence the people. Navalny was poisoned by a nerve agent and was arrested when he returned to Russia for treatment from Germany. He accused the Russian government of poisoning himself.

Now in this new case, radio station Echo Moscow has said that this forum was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. In which Municipal Corporation personnel, event organizers Andrey Pivovarov and Executive Director of Open Russia came from all over the country. Open Russia is a UK-based group formed by former exiled oil trader Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a critic of the Russian government. In the case, opposition leader Ilya Yasmin wrote on Twitter, ‘Police came to the Municipal Workers’ Forum in Moscow. There were 150 people from all over the country. All were taken into custody. I mean everyone. However, the police has said that all the people have been detained due to ‘activities of an undesirable organization’.
