BRICS Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today described terrorism as a major problem in the 12th conference of BRICS countries hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that terrorism is a big problem for the world and countries supporting terrorists have to be held responsible for this problem. The Prime Minister said that this problem can only be dealt with in an organized manner.
He said that 15 years of BRICS are being completed in 2021 and on this occasion, all the decisions taken by the member countries so far can be reported so that they can be evaluated.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is also taking part in this conference being held through video conferencing. There will be discussion on reducing the impact of the corona epidemic, dealing with terrorism, improvement of multilateral systems, trade, health, energy and mutual cooperation.
For the second time this month, Modi-Jinping face to face
This is the second time this month, when PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are opposite each other. Earlier in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, Modi and Jinping met face to face. PM Modi completely ignored Jinping in that meeting. Russian President Vladimir Putin was also present at that SCO meeting.
Host Russia refuses to raise bilateral issues
Russia, hosting this conference, had already made it clear that bilateral contentious issues would not be raised on this platform. However, Russia has also said that both India and China have benefited from participation in BRICS.
Five countries included in BRICS
BRICS is made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. Earlier South Africa was not included in this, it was called BRIC but in 2010 China sent him an invitation to join this group. It became BRICS after he joined. Its first meeting was held in 2009 and since then it has been held in member countries every year. This time it was to be held in Russia between July 21-23 but was postponed due to corona epidemic and now it is being organized on 17 November through video conferencing. The next BRICS conference will be held in India, although the dates are yet to be announced.
