China’s smartphone maker Xiaomi is actively increasing its high-end devices. Recently, the company launched the Mi 10S and Redmi K40 smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC processor. Now in a new report, it is being claimed that this year the company can present three more new smartphones with Snapdragon 870 chipset. However, no further information has been revealed about these devices.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 is a 7nm chipset that appears to be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC processor. It has a Kryo 585 CPU whose prime core is clocked at 3.2 GHz, which is 100 megahertz more than the core core of Snapdragon 865 Plus.

It has Adreno 650 GPU inside and it and it also has a Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which supports MMW and sub-6 GHz network. It also has support for Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and Quick Charge 4+.
The existence of the Snapdragon 870 SoC seems to have arisen due to the demand by the makers of a new chipset for a more affordable flagship, which is priced much lower than the premium phone. The report says that this chipset is basically for flagship killer smartphones.

Xiaomi is not the only company to make devices powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset. Companies like Motorola, Oppo and iQOO are also included in this list and have launched phones with Snapdragon 870 SoC processors. Recently, another Chinese smartphone company Vivo has launched X60 Pro smartphone, which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor.
