Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S Review: Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 7 in India in the year 2019. This was different from the version sold in China. The Indian variant of Redmi Note 7 came with a low feature camera setup. This was done to keep the price of the phone low, so that it can be made available for less than 10 thousand rupees. At that time, the sticker price of all Redmi Note phones was Rs 9,999, which was their biggest feature. Three months later, the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 7 was launched in India as the Redmi Note 7S.
In 2021, Xiaomi is doing this again with the Redmi Note 10S.
Features of the phone
Major changes were made in the camera of Redmi Note 7S. More hardware updates have been done in Note 10S than that. But the software of the phone makes it special. This is the first phone from Xiaomi, which comes with MIUI 12.5 out of the box. In this, users can control what kind of apps they want to use. And you can leave them as per your choice.
The phone was launched with the interim version of MIUI 12.5. The feature to uninstall and remove pre-existing applications has been added recently.
Make it clear that for the first time it looks like any other Redmi phone. In this, dual apps, cleaner and the feature of sharing with the app are available. Apart from this, all system apps are updated through GetApps. In comparison, you get frequent reminders in the Play Store and they also raise concerns about privacy.
Xiaomi has stopped giving its calling, messaging and browsing apps together. But despite that, about 60 apps are pre-installed in Note 10S. Some of these may be useful, others may not. But with the help of MIUI 12.5, you can uninstall many apps or at least hide them, which was not possible earlier.
The new update adds several more tabs to the Apps section in the phone’s settings. With the help of one of these, you can manage the home screen shortcut. You can remove apps from your home screen/app drawer using the toggles available for each app in this section.
It’s a good experience to see Note 10S with only 20 apps and no spam notifications.
Redmi Note 10S is in a way the Redmi Note 10 with a different system on chip and primary camera. It has a MediaTek Helio G95 processor, while the Note 10 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 678 processor. At least 6GB of RAM is available in Note 10S, while the initial RAM in Note 10 is 4GB. The Note 10 comes with a 48-megapixel main camera, while the Note 10S has a much better 64-megapixel camera instead.
The most important thing is its design. It is slim, lightweight and great to look at. It doesn’t look like a budget phone. The back is made of plastic and the front has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is IP53 certified, which means it has dust and water resistance. It also has dual speakers. There is a fingerprint reader on the side of the phone.

The 5,000mAh battery can easily last a whole day. It also has support for 33W fast charging.
The starting price of Note 10S is Rs 14,999 for its base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. By spending a thousand rupees more than this, you can buy Note 10 Pro with more premium glass design, better HDR10 ready display, faster Snapdragon 732G chipset and bigger 5020mAh battery. So it is difficult to suggest to buy Note 10.
