Windows 11
Microsoft has finally launched Windows 11. With the introduction of new windows, people have become curious whether they should install the new operating system or the OS currently in use is enough for them for the next few years. Microsoft’s new Windows PC brings many changes to the users including clutter free and beautiful design. Windows 11 looks so attractive and people are asking if their old computer can handle it or they need a new PC or laptop for the new Windows for this.
Actually the Windows 11 operating system is a major upgrade over Windows 10, which has been more than 6 years since its launch. The biggest change is the new design in Windows 11 where the Start menu has moved to the center of the taskbar, now there are widgets to give you information in one place, you have a new sound for Windows bootup, a complete redesign on that change. It is based on what people showed in Pandemic, which is why there is an easy-to-access team button on the taskbar, which combines well with Windows.

Requirements for Windows 11
Windows 11 is the latest operating system, which is very much like Apple’s macOS but it is different from macOS in terms of hardware. There are many OEMs that ship Windows on their PCs, laptops, convertibles and more. This is why it is important to have these 7 things in order to deliver what Microsoft has promised for its operating system…
- Must have a processor or System on a Chip (SoC) with at least 1GHz clock speed, two cores and 64-bit architecture. This includes all Intel Core, Pentium, Evo chipsets, as well as AMD’s Ryzen chipsets.
- The PC must have at least 4GB of RAM. If your old PC has 2GB of RAM, you cannot install Windows 11 and that’s why you will need to buy a new one or increase the RAM.
- Your device should have 64GB minimum storage. This is a very minor requirement though, so most older PCs and laptops will be covered.
- The PC must have UEFI and Secure Boot for Windows 11. UEFI is similar to BIOS and is required to connect the firmware of the computer to its operating system. Secure Boot is a set of programs that checks whether your operating system is safe to run on the machine.
- Microsoft recommends a DirectX 12 compatible graphics card with WDDM 2.x for Windows 11. Almost all graphics cards from Intel, Nvidia and AMD recently supported DirectX 12.
- The PC must have at least a 9-inch screen with HD (720p) resolution. Most laptops have either 14-inch or 15.6-inch screens, while monitors come in a variety of sizes, all larger than 9-inches, so the display shouldn’t be a problem for your old PC.
- You will need internet to activate Windows 11, besides, of course, downloading it to your PC. Only original Windows 10 users are eligible to download Windows 11.
Is your PC compatible with Windows 11 or not?
It’s very simple. There is a tool from Microsoft that will check if your PC has the necessary hardware for Windows 11. This tool is called PC Health Checkup and it is free to download from the Microsoft website. Simply run it on your PC or laptop and the tool will tell you whether your machine can support Windows 11 or not.
Windows 11 is also going to be free to download but only for those who are using the original Windows 10. Microsoft said the rollout should begin in November and will continue through 2022. If you can’t wait that long, you can become a part of the Windows Insider Program and test the Windows 11 beta version until its release.
