The feature to connect devices without a primary smartphone is in beta stage and testing is going on right now. This is an opt-in feature labeled as beta in the Linked Devices option in the Settings menu on WhatsApp. Also, after turning off this feature, the app will logout from all devices, which will prove to be a useful feature in view of security. However, there will also be some new options, which will prove useful for the users.
