The engineers who built BharatCaller claim that this caller ID app does not upload your call logs, contacts or messages on their servers like foreign and other caller IDs.
Bharatcaller App was launched on 15 August 2021 for the general public.
India has come up with its native version of TrueCaller, the caller ID and blocking application, called BharatCaller. According to a report on Friday by Live Hindustan, the creators have said that the application will offer a better experience to the users and is ahead of Truecaller in some aspects.
The details of this application on Google Play Store read, “India Caller ID has over 50 million user database and over 1 billion data from the global community. This is the only app you need to make your communication secure and smart.
Who developed BharatCaller
BharatCaller was developed by Prajwal Sinha, an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. Its co-founder is Kunal Pasricha. Both Sinha and Pasricha were winners of the National Startup Awards 2020. The BharatCaller app is available for free on Play Store and iOS and has been downloaded 6,000 times so far.
Features of Bharat Collar
According to the report of Live Hindustan, BharatCaller does not save the contacts and call logs of the users on its servers and their privacy is not affected. Also, the employees of the organization do not have a database of the phone numbers of the users and they do not have access to any such data.
All data on BharatCaller is stored in encrypted format and its servers cannot be accessed by anyone outside India. Apart from English, the application is also available ,, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati etc.
Why was the Bharat collar made?
The purpose behind creating BharatCaller was to give India its own caller ID application. This comes even after the Indian Army banned Truecaller due to privacy issues and it was suggested that the application may be spyware. The army had ordered its personnel to immediately remove the trucker from their mobile phones.
BharatCaller was developed within 6 months in December 2020. It was successfully tested and the first version is designed for 10 million users. Bharat Caller was launched on 15 August 2021 for the general public.
