In this post, we will know in detail about the e-RUPI service recently launched by Prime Minister Modi. Do you want to know what is e-RUPI then read this short, post written in simple language?
What is e-RUPI, What is e-RUPI in India?
What is e-RUPI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the e-RUPI scheme to promote digital payments and so that the money of government schemes is spent at the right place.
e-RUPI is an electronic voucher, it will be sent to the needy in the form of a qr-code and the money can be spent for the work for which it is meant.
Till now, we used to get money for government schemes and we used to spend it here and there without spending it for the work for which we were taken, but now we will get money for the work through e-RUPI QR Code. You will be able to spend the money in that work.
On August 2, 2021, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, had launched a new digital payment instrument called e-RUPI, you must have heard and used UPI Payment, it is an upgraded version of the same.
e-RUPI will also work like UPI but the possibility of theft will be completely eliminated i.e. you will be able to do your transaction through ERUPI without any problem.
e-RUPI has been created by NPCI i.e. National Payment Corporation of India. This organization manages all the operations related to the payment.
Why e-RUPI was created?
The main objective of the government to create e-RUPI is that the money should be used for the work for which the money is sent.
Many times the ministers of the government take money from the government treasury to roam in their constituency but put that money elsewhere, but now it will be impossible to do this through e-RUPI QR Code.
Now the ministers of the government will not be able to take direct money for filling petrol, but they will be given a QR code and through that code, they will be able to buy only petrol and will not be able to buy any item.
Well, in the same way, if the government sends a QR code of ₹ 2000 to the farmer to buy urea, then that code will work only at the urea shop and will not work at any other shop.
There was always a complaint that people used to take money from the government for some other work and used to spend that money in random places, but now you will be able to spend that money for the work for which the government will send money.
Because now you will not get cash money from banks but instead of money you will get QR code for that work.
How does e-RUPI work?
Through e-RUPI, the government wants to eliminate scam and theft. Till now, money was given by the government to farmers or other lower class people under different schemes, which many people used to spend that money in some other work instead of doing that work.
But now the work for which the government will give money to the people, only that work will be done. For example, the government sends ₹ 1000 to the farmer for urea, through the e-RUPI QR code, the farmer will be able to buy only urea from that QR code, and will not be able to buy other things.
Many times people take money for urea but buy some other things with that money, but now for the work you will get money through e-RUPI QR code, you will be able to do the same work with that code.
Let us take another example, if you have received an e-RUPI QR Code of ₹ 2000 to buy paddy seeds from the government and you want to buy the cloth by taking that code to the cloth seller, then when the cloth seller will scan that code So that code will say invalid.
But if you take the same code to a paddy seed shop and he scans it, then he will be able to withdraw that money easily and will give you ₹2000 paddy seed.
How does e-RUPI QR Code work?
e-RUPI QR Code will not require any mobile app, it will be sent to any type of your mobile set via QR code or message and you will be able to use it at the right place.
When the government sends the e-RUPI QR Code to you to buy urea, then the urea updates that code in the company’s system as well.
And when you take that code to the urea shop, that code matches there and then you are able to buy urea with that money.
But if you go to any other shop to buy any other item with urea QR code and there the shop owner scans that code, then that code does not match and says invalid.
It means to say that the government wants that the work for which it sends money to you, you should be able to put that money in the same work, do not waste that money by doing unreasonable work.
Let us take another example, if the government sent a QR code of ₹ 2000 to you for treatment and you will not go to the hospital and give that code to buy liquor at any liquor shop, then when the drinker scans that code, he will The code will not match and will return invalid.
Because the QR code which was sent to you by the government, another copy of the same code was given to the hospitals for treatment, so when you go to the hospital, this code will match there and your money for this code will be spent in the hospital itself. Will be able
Till now, if the government used to send ₹ 100 to us, then only half could be saved by coming to us after eating food in the middle, but now whatever money the government sends to us through e-RUPI, we will be able to get it completely.
Where will the e-rupee be used?
The e-RUPI Voucher or QR Code will be used at the following locations.
- 1. Matri and Child Welfare Scheme.
- 2. On medicines or treatment available under government schemes.
- 3. TB Eradication Program.
- 4. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
- 5. Food Subsidy Scheme.
Apart from the schemes mentioned above, there are many other schemes under which the money received will now be given to the needy through e-RUPI QR Code so that they will be able to spend only for the work for which they have taken money.
Private companies will also be able to provide these vouchers to their employees. For example, if a company sends you to stay in a hotel, it will give a QR code and you will be able to use that code in the same hotel, it will not work in any other hotel.
