Facebook will now allow users to make voice and video calls from the main app. The voice and video calling feature was previously carried over to the Messenger app. Users in countries like the US can now make video and voice calls directly from the main Facebook app.

This feature has now come directly on the Facebook app.

Facebook will now allow users to make voice and video calls from the main app. The voice and video calling feature was first given in the Messenger app. Earlier, to make video and voice calls on Facebook, users had to exit the main app and go to the Messenger app. However, now Facebook has brought this feature back to its main app. Users in countries like the United States can now make video and voice calls directly from the main Facebook app.

According to a Bloomberg report, Facebook has started testing video and voice calling features on its main app. This move by Facebook will eliminate the need to switch between the Facebook app and Messenger to use the voice and video calling features. Until 2014, Facebook and Messenger used to be a single app. However, in 2014, Facebook introduced a separate app and transferred the calling, video calling and messaging features to Messenger. Users were forced to download a separate Messenger app to chat with their Facebook friends.

The report states that Facebook is planning to add a limited version of Messenger to the main Facebook app. It is testing ways to reduce the need to switch to Messenger to chat with Facebook friends. Facebook’s director of product management at Messenger told Bloomberg that Facebook will now treat Messenger as a service rather than a standalone app.

Apart from this, Facebook is also planning to merge messaging services between Messenger and WhatsApp. Earlier, Facebook launched a joint messaging service between Facebook and Instagram.

Announcing the feature, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said, “People are now communicating in more private places than ever before. More than a billion people already use Messenger as a place to share, travel, and express themselves with family and friends. That’s why we’re connecting Messenger and the Instagram experience to bring you some of the best Messenger features on Instagram, so you can have access to the best messaging experience, no matter what app you use.
