Micro-blogging site Twitter is preparing to add new features to its platform for users. Users will now have the ability to enable and share a direct link from their space to tune in to other people in a live audio session via the web without logging in. The social media giant said the new work-capacity is for space users who have friends who aren’t on Twitter but still want to listen in space.
As TechCrunch reports, this expansion opens up the Twitter space to even more people and gives the social media giant a better chance to reach new people outside its platform. The new work-capacity gives Twitter Space an edge over competitors like Clubhouse and Facebook’s Live Audio Room. Twitter has been introducing several features over the past few months to further improve the space and attract more users.
Last week, the company launched the space recording feature for testers on iOS. This feature gives hosts the ability to select a new record space setting before starting a live audio session. Once the session is over, the recorded location can be shared on Twitter, allowing listeners to play it back or share it themselves at any time, the report said.
Twitter also recently launched a space test that brings an update for Android users with a dedicated Spaces tab that makes it easier to invite DMs. Twitter will now also feature Famous Spaces in the Explore tab on iOS to increase its visibility.
Twitter adds a new search button to profile pages
Twitter has added a new search button to profile pages, which will make it easier to search through tweets from a specific user. According to The Verge, a social media consultant noted that the button began to be visible to a small number of users last month, but now XDA Developers said the feature has rolled out widely to the service’s iOS apps. The report states that being able to limit the search to a single user’s tweet is not a new Twitter feature.
