Twitter has informed the Delhi High Court that it will take 8 weeks to appoint Grievance Officers in compliance with IT rules. It has also told the court that it is in the process of setting up a liaison office in India which will be their permanent physical contact address.
Twitter has also said that it will submit its first compliance report as per the new IT rules by July 11. Twitter said, “Twitter is attempting to comply with the 2021 Rules, although Twitter reserves the right to challenge the validity and rights of the Rules.”
Earlier, the Center had told the Delhi High Court that Twitter Inc. Failed to comply with the new IT rules, which are the law of the land and whose compliance is mandatory. Reacting to this, Twitter said that it is in the process of appointing a local grievance redressal officer.
