Twitter on Thursday showed a way of intimidating and threatening the Delhi Police’s arrival at his office, and expressed concern over it. Twitter said that it will try to follow the appropriate law in India, so that its service will be available in the country. The microblogging platform said that it supports changes in IT regulations that are against independent, public communication.
Will protect freedom of expression under law: Twitter
The spokesman said that right now, they are worried about the recent incidents related to employees in India and the possible danger on freedom of expression for the people. The spokesperson said that many people of civil society in India and the world are concerned about the use of scare tactics by the police in response to the enforcement of its global terms of service. Twitter said that it will follow the principles of Precedence. At the same time, it will strengthen the voice using its service and protect freedom of expression and privacy under the law.
