WhatsApp is not allowing users to make audio / video calls, who have not accepted their new privacy policy.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology last week directed WhatsApp to withdraw its new privacy policy, failing which it would take “necessary steps as required by law”. The Ministry of Communications had earlier said that the new terms of the WhatsApp service violated the IT law, to which WhatsApp responded by saying that the new privacy policy was in line with them.
Now, after the deadline of May 15 to accept WhatsApp’s new terms of service, some WhatsApp users who have not followed its new terms of service, those who do not accept WhatsApp’s privacy policy, experience its loss. Are doing, as the company owned by Facebook said that it will show a gradual effect for the users continuously.
Some Twitter users said on Monday that WhatsApp is not allowing audio / video calls to users who have not accepted their new privacy policy. While the calling feature is working for most users who have not yet accepted the new terms of service, it appears that WhatsApp has started to randomly enforce the ban for some users, which is a -B is like testing.
Account will not be deleted if you do not accept the condition
WhatsApp had earlier stated that the WhatsApp accounts of users who do not accept the new terms of service will not be deleted until May 15, but gradually some features may stop working for them. WhatsApp said, “It won’t happen to all users at the same time but you can still answer incoming phone and video calls. If you have notifications coming, you can tap on any message to read, reply to it, make a missed phone or video call. ”
Currently, a pop-up showing those WhatsApp users who have not accepted the Terms of Service when making audio and video calls, reads, “WhatsApp protects your conversations with end-to-end encryption . This means that your messages, calls and status updates remain between you and the people you choose. Even WhatsApp can’t read or hear them. “
Let MeitY give WhatsApp a week to withdraw its privacy policy on 18 May and there are no signs of roll back from WhatsApp where the terms of service are concerned. WhatsApp had earlier noted that it would not extend the deadline of May 15 to accept the new terms of service and give users some time with their new terms. WhatsApp has noted that its messages are encrypted end-to-end and the new terms of service apply only to the business account.
