Internet speed is increasing continuously in India. The average broadband download speed is 17.84Mbps in June 2021 as compared to 15.34Mbps in the previous month. This information has been found in the latest report of network testing firm Ookla. With this, India has reached the 122nd position in the Global Internet Speed Ranking in terms of mobile broadband speed.
On the other hand, if we talk about fixed broadband internet speed, then it has reached 58.17Mbps which was 55.65Mbps in May 2021. With this, India has reached 70th place in terms of fixed broadband speed. According to the report, India has reached the top of the Global Ranking Index for the third time in terms of mobile internet speed and in the last two months there is a continuous improvement in terms of mobile download speed.
Talking about fixed broadband internet speed, it saw a slight decline in May. But it has been seen in the report that in June, the overall fixed download speed in India was 58.17 Mbps, which was top on the global index.
Jio won the 4G internet segment
According to the data recently released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio is at the top in the 4G internet segment. Its average download speed is 21.9Mbps, while Vodafone Idea has won the upload segment with a speed of 6.2Mbps. Apart from this, UAE is at the top with 193.51 Mbps average mobile internet download speed according to Ookla. On the other hand, South Korea stood second with a speed of 180.48 Mbps and Qatar stood third with a speed of 171.76 Mbps.
Apart from these things, the report also stated that
Oman recorded the highest jump of 26 places in terms of mobile internet speed last month, moving the country to 15th place in the global rankings. On the other hand, if we talk about the top three countries, then Monaco, Singapore and Hong Kong stood first, second and third with speeds of 260.74 Mbps, 252.68 and 248.94 Mbps respectively. Apart from this, the global mobile download average speed was 55.34 Mbps and upload speed was 12.69 Mbps. With this, its latency rate was 37 milliseconds. Apart from this, if we talk about fixed broadband speed, then it was 106.61 Mbps and upload speed was 57.67 Mbps with latency rate of 20ms.
