Bharti Airtel has announced a cashback of Rs 6,000 in two installments over a period of three years to customers buying a new smartphone from its portal. Airtel said in a statement on Friday that this cashback will be given on purchase of smartphones up to Rs 12,000 from 12 brands… Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Reality, Nokia, Itel, Lava, Infinix, Tecno, Lenovo and Motorola.
The statement said that Airtel will give a cashback of Rs 6,000 to customers on purchase of new smartphones from certain brands worth up to Rs 12,000. To get this cashback, customers will have to recharge a prepaid pack of Rs 249 or more (as per the validity of the pack) for 36 consecutive months. Customers will get this cashback in two installments. The first installment of Rs 2,000 will be paid after 18 months and the remaining Rs 4,000 will be paid after 36 months.
Apart from this, the customers taking the benefit of this scheme will be given the facility to change the screen free of cost for one time from Servify, if needed.
Airtel to triple its data center capacity by 2025
Telecom company Bharti Airtel’s subsidiary Nextra has said that it will invest Rs 5,000 crore to triple its data center capacity by 2025. The company will set up a hyperscale campus for this as well as increase the share of eco-friendly energy in running the data center to 50 percent from the present 35 percent.
Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO, Airtel Business, said, “We are making a fresh investment of Rs 5,000 crore to expand our data centres. Some work has already started. As an organization, we are trying to create an ecosystem that will increase access to 70 more cities.
The company claims to cover 70 cities in the country with the operation of over 120 edge data centers including 10 large data centers. The company is planning to add 40 MW of capacity to the existing data centers in the next 5-6 months. The company is setting up new data centers in Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Noida and Kolkata and expects to have Chennai data centers by October, Mumbai in the next 18 months and Kolkata by 2024.
