SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has indicated that Starlink internet services may launch in India soon. He reiterated that the company is awaiting regulatory approval.
Starlink will give users very fast internet speed
Space-X CEO Elon Musk has indicated that the company’s satellite broadband service may soon come to India. A Twitter user Trionset asked Musk when the Starlink service would start in India, to which he replied that he was waiting for regulator approval. “Dear Allen, when are you launching Starlink services in India..? We and our existing customers are waiting for wireless internet services,” a Twitter user named Trionset asked Musk in a somewhat similar manner, to which he replied that he was awaiting the regulatory approval process.
Company President Gwynne Shotwell said in June that SpaceX has deployed 1800 satellites. Once they will reach operational orbit as soon as satellites. Star Link will start doing its global coverage from September 2021. But even after this, we have to do regulatory work with every country and get permission.
permission has to be taken from the government
In India, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) directed SpaceX to obtain necessary licenses before offering any service in the country. According to an India Today report, the source said, “DOT has no objection to Starlink satellite internet service being offered in India through SpaceX. But it must comply with the laws of the country and seek appropriate licenses and other authorizations before offering the service to Indian users.
Starlink currently offers beta services in 14 countries including the US, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Europe. SpaceX aims to launch about 42,000 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit by the middle of 2027. As of now, Starlink is in beta in the region where it is available. Speeds range from 50Mbps to 150Mbps in beta and there is no download speed.
In May, Musk said the Low Earth Orbiting Satellite Network had received more than 500,000 pre-orders for its Internet service and expected no technical problems to meet demand. Musk previously mentioned that Starlink will “probably be out of beta this summer.”
Users can avail Starlink connection by paying a refundable amount of $99. For information about their area, users can visit Starlink’s website and find out about the service from there. However, this will not guarantee the service here. Let us know that once this service is rolled out worldwide, the internet speed will be 209.17mbps.
