The spacecraft orbiting Mars is also visible in these pictures. They show the orbiter’s golden body. The images also show its silver high-gain antenna, which is used for communication. These pictures on social media have attracted everyone, including space agencies sending their missions to Mars and people engaged in research.
Tianwen-1 was launched in July 2020 amid the COVID pandemic. It entered the orbit of Mars in February 2021. The mission consists of an orbiter, a lander and a rover.
This is the orbiter’s second such achievement. Earlier, Tianwen-1 deployed a small camera to take its pictures on its way to Mars, reports Space.com. Tianwen-1’s chief systems designer Sun Zezhou reportedly told Chinese state media that the shape of the orbiter was accurate. With solar panel wings, directional antennae and some other antennae, it can be seen flying around Mars.
‘Tianwen-1′ is China’s first exploration mission to Mars. Its goal is to map the morphology and geology of Mars. It will also study Mars’ ionosphere, electromagnetic and gravitational fields. It will also serve as a communication relay center for the rover to send and receive information from Earth. With this mission, Chinese scientists hope to find more evidence of water or ice on Mars.
