Talking about second-hand smartphones, in the last year 2020, 26 percent of the smartphones were sold by Xiaomi and thus it has maintained its dominance in the second-hand smartphone market. After Xiaomi, Apple’s iPhones sold second hand the most. Apple has a 20 percent share in this market, that is, two out of 10 smartphones are being sold by Apple. Talking about the market share of second hand smartphones, with 26 percent, the reign of Xiaomi remains intact. Apple is in second place with 20 per cent, Samsung is in third place with 16 per cent and Motorola and Vivo are in fourth place with 6-6 per cent. In the survey, 23 percent people were from Delhi, 13 percent from Mumbai, 11 percent from Bangalore and 7 percent from Hyderabad. Satellite cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow also showed growth and topped the upcoming city category.
Only 20% of women sold their smartphones
According to the insights obtained from the survey, in the last year 2020, people have sold their second hand smartphones at an average price of Rs 4217. Most of the users were those who sold the smartphones after keeping them for about three years and 62 percent had screen related issues and 21 percent had battery related issues. According to the survey, 80 percent of the people selling their smartphones were men, while only 20 percent of women sold their smartphones.
In this survey, responses were taken from about 4 thousand people. According to the survey, most Indians preferred to buy smartphones instead of laptops. Apart from this, 84 percent upgraded it within 14-18 months of buying the smartphone. People made the option of no-cost EMI and replacement warranty as the prime standard for buying.
