Smartphone maker Oppo is preparing to launch its much-awaited Reno 6 smartphone series in the country on July 14. In such a situation, a top official said on Monday that the upcoming series will prove to be another milestone in India and a game changer in the premium category. According to Tasleem Arif, Vice President and Head, (R&D) Oppo India, with the Reno 6 series of devices, the company aims to gain leadership in the premium device category.
Arif told IANS, “With the Reno6 series adopting the latest technology to build on the unique strength of the series in excellent imaging capacity and attractive design, we are confident that the most awaited Reno 6 series will be a hit with the customers. Oppo is the world’s fourth largest smartphone brand
According to Arif, India’s R&D team has worked tirelessly to validate the Reno6 series 5G devices as per operator requirements, which includes conducting interoperability and compliance testing. The company’s performance in the first quarter of this year has been particularly strong, with data from various research firms showing that Oppo is the world’s fourth-largest smartphone brand.
According to a report by market research firm IDC Q1, Oppo’s smartphone sales stood at the fourth position in unit shipments, growing at 35 percent year-on-year. Arif said that for 2021 and beyond, 5G and IoT will be the key focus areas, along with a further primary R&D and innovation.
The new series can be a game-changer for the company
