In April, the number of mobile subscribers of Jio has reached 42.76 crore, Vodafone Idea’s subscriber base has reached 28.19 crore and Bharti Airtel has reached 35.29 crore.

Amidst the Corona epidemic, the month of April was very special for Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company. The latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revealed that the company added 47 lakh new mobile subscribers in April. During this, Vodafone Idea, which is in crisis, has lost 18 lakh customers. On the other hand, if we talk about Bharti Airtel, then this telecom provider has added 5.1 lakh new customers in April. State-run BSNL also saw a drop in its user base from around 13.05 lakh to 11.72 crore.
According to the data, the number of mobile subscribers of Reliance Jio increased by 47 lakhs to 42.76 million in April. At the same time, the number of Vodafone Idea customers decreased by 18 lakhs to 28.19 crores. In March, the company added 1 million new customers. Apart from this, the number of mobile subscribers of Bharti Airtel increased by 5.1 lakh to 35.29 crore in April.

Total phone subscribers grew by 0.19 percent
TRAI said that overall the number of phone subscribers in the country in April increased by 0.19 percent to 120.34 million as compared to the previous month. The number of urban phone subscribers grew by 0.08 percent and that of rural subscribers by 0.32 percent during the month. The country’s total phone density increased to 88.27 percent in April, from 88.17 percent in March.
0.61 percent increase in the number of broadband subscribers
Apart from this, according to TRAI data, the number of broadband subscribers increased to 7828 million in April, which is 0.61 percent more than the previous month. The top five service providers accounted for 98.8 percent of the total broadband subscribers at the end of April. These service providers include Reliance Jio Infocomm (43.04 crore), Bharti Airtel (19.41 crore), Vodafone Idea (12.25 crore), BSNL (2.45 crore) and Atria Convergence (18.7 lakh).
