New Delhi: Reliance Jio has launched a new prepaid plan that will offer 2.5GB internet data and unlimited voice calling for 365 days (1 year). The prepaid plan, available on the Jio website and MyJio app, costs Rs 2,999 and also includes benefits like 100 SMS per day. Users will also get access to JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity and JioCloud.
The new plan is similar to the Rs 3,119 and Rs 2,879 prepaid plans that offer similar benefits, though both bundles offer an annual Disney Plus Hotstar mobile subscription of Rs 499 at no extra charge, which is not available in the new plan. .
3,119 prepaid plan, similar to Rs 2,999, is valid for 365 days and offers benefits such as access to Jio apps – JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity, and JioCloud. Apart from 100 SMS per day and unlimited voice calling, users will get 2GB data per day along with 10GB additional internet.
On the other hand, the Rs 2879 Jio prepaid plan offers the same benefits as the Rs 3,119 plan but offers only 2GB of internet data per day. If Jio users cross the daily limit of internet data, they will continue to get internet services at 64Kbps.
In another news related to Reliance Jio, the telecom giant has launched the UPI auto-pay service for both postpaid and prepaid customers. As the name suggests, Jio customers can set up UPI auto-payment through the MyJio app which essentially removes the hassle of manually paying postpaid bills or doing prepaid recharges. As a part of the convenience, Reliance Jio users can enjoy auto UPI recharge of up to Rs 5,000 without a security PIN.
Customers can change the plan or opt-out of the service at any time, if they so desire. Reliance Jio is the first major telecom company in India to offer this convenient payment option. Jio has started this feature in partnership with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India).
