Microsoft announced on Tuesday that Windows 11 is now available through a free upgrade on eligible Windows 10 PCs and worldwide on new PCs with Windows 11 pre-installed. New pre-installed Windows 11 devices have started arriving with partners including Asus, HP and Lenovo, and will soon be coming from partners such as Acer and Dell.

According to the company, Windows 11 brings new powerful experiences, whether users are working on a school project, helping with a presentation for work, building a new app or creating their next big idea. Windows 11 revamps the taskbar icon and start menu. It also adds rounded corners for all program windows and built-in team chat. Windows 11 also includes support for Direct Storage, a feature first introduced on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.

Introduced in July, Windows 11 comes with a sleek look and layout for snapping applications on the screen. More detailed widgets, a new Microsoft Store, and support for Android apps.
Microsoft has already disclosed the basic requirements to run Windows 11 on PC. This will require a processor that has two or more cores and a clock speed of 1 GHz or higher with 4 GB of RAM and at least 64 GB of storage.
The firm recently announced that Windows 11 will officially support Intel Core X-series, Xeon W-series and Intel Core 7820HQ.
