Micro-blogging site Twitter has announced that it is now rolling out its chirp font for the Twitter app and feed, aimed at revamping its website and app. The company expanded the Chirp font as part of a wider brand refresh it launched in January and now the company has said it is ready to use.
Twitter tweeted on Wednesday, “Today, we’ve released some changes to the way Twitter looks on the web and on your phone. While it may sound strange at first, these updates make us more accessible, updated and focused on what you are talking about. In January, we revealed our new font, Chirp – and it’s ready for you to use today.
The company mentioned that all Western languages will now align to the left, which makes it easier to read while scrolling. Non-Western languages will remain unchanged. This month, the micro-blogging site shut down its Fleets feature like Instagram Stories. A previous report said that from August 3, Twitter users will only see Active Spaces, which are live audio chat rooms.
In a detailed source, Twitter says that with the design refresh, its intention was to clear the clutter and focus more on its content. Buttons will now have high contrast colors and there is a new color palette for users who want to give a different look to their feed. Most of the changes are visible from today, which includes the desktop version as well as the app.

So far, we’ve seen the new font implemented on our desktop client and it reminds us of the Google Sans font used by Pixel phones. At first glance, the chirp font looks clear in topics but needs integration while reading the tweet content.
