A top executive of the domestic e-commerce giant has commissioned the 2.2-lakh-sq-ft fulfillment center (second largest in Dankuni, West Bengal) in its ongoing process to augment the supply chain in the east to meet the growing demand across the region. Flipkart now has over 1 million square feet of warehousing space in seven fulfillment centers and 152 delivery hubs in West Bengal alone and employs more than 50,000 people in all these facilities. It is creating millions of direct and indirect employment opportunities apart from warehousing assets of millions of square feet from partner brands, while also working with over 9,300 kirana delivery partners and 10,000 vendors in the region.
Flipkart Senior VP (Supply Chain) Hemant Badri said, “The e-commerce will continue to serve the dominant ecosystem.
