Telegram is planning to add more users in the future

Popular messaging app Telegram has announced a series of new features. As per the new development, Telegram will now allow up to 1000 people to join a group video call and will also allow users to send video messages. Not only this, Telegram has now supported screen sharing with sound for all video calls, including One on One Call and more.

Ever since WhatsApp has come under scrutiny for its new confusing privacy policy, Telegram has seen a surge in users. Telegram and other messaging apps Signal were considered safe by most WhatsApp users.

Telegram said that it wants to increase this limit until all humans on Earth are included in a group call. Therefore, the company has allowed around 1000 users to join the video call, while 30 users can broadcast the video from both their camera and screen. This feature will be especially beneficial for online lectures, seminars and even online concerts with multiple users.

Telegram has updated its video message feature. Telegram says video messages are a faster way to check in or share things around you without adding another video to your gallery. You can simply tap on the recording button in your chat box and send it to your contacts. The video will not be saved to your gallery.

Can change video playback speed

Now you can change the playback speed of videos sent to you via Telegram. The media player on the app now supports 0.5x, 1.5x and 2x playback speeds. So it can be used to fast-forward calls or watch videos in slow speed.

To change the video playback speed, while watching a video at full screen, tap the three dots on Android or the three horizontal dots on iOS. Android users can also press and hold the 2X button while playing a sound or video message to switch between 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x playback speeds.
