Nikon has launched the retro-style Nikon Z fc mirrorless camera. It is a DX-preview camera with 20.9 megapixel sensor. It offers the latest technology and features packed in a vintage body. The Nikon Z fc has the latest camera features to shoot self-portraits, video blogs and street photography. The new Z-mount camera is said to be compact and lightweight, which will be quite easy for the photographer to carry.
The Nikon Z fc has a 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 image processor. The 209-point hybrid autofocus system included in the camera covers about 85 percent of the frame. An eye-detection autofocus feature is available that focuses on the subject’s eyes including both humans and animals. This feature helps in capturing clear shots even when the subject is moving. The camera also has an ISO dial that ranges from 100 to 51200.
Features of Nikon Z fc
- The camera boasts of 4K recording. Slow-motion video can be shot with the 1080p/120p setting or using 4x/5x in-camera slow-motion mode.
- Users can create 4K timelapse with the help of built-in interval timer feature. The new Z fc camera has a continuous shooting mode option of 11FPS. Other features include a touchscreen LCD display that can flip the camera.
- The camera includes a 0.39-inch electronic viewfinder (EVF) and features a 2.36m-dot OLED display. The camera has a single SD card slot.
- The retro-style camera design, in black and silver color options, grabs the attention of the camera users. However, the company has brought 6 different color variants of Nikon Z fc – White, Coral Pink, Mint Green, Sand Beige, Amber Brown and Natural Grey.
- Along with the Nikon Z fc, the company has announced two new lenses for the camera body. This includes the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm F3.5-6.3 VR, and the NIKKOR Z 28mm F2.8 (SE).
availability and price
The Nikon Z fc will be available in the US in kit configurations starting late July 2021. The camera body will be available for $960 (approximately Rs.71,000), and when paired with the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm F3.5-6.3 VR lens, the kit will sell for $1,100 (approximately Rs.81,715). However, the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens will be available separately for $300 (approximately Rs. 22,000). The NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 (SE) Special Edition lens will be available as a kit for $1,200 or separately for $300. The price and availability of Nikon Z fc camera and new lens in India is not known.
