Lionsgate posted the new release date of John Wick: Chapter 4 through a teaser on the company’s social media channel. Lionsgate didn’t give a specific reason for the movie’s release date being pushed forward, but according to a report in Deadline, production has come to a halt in Japan. The report states that the film is to be shot at different locations around the world. In such a situation, to stop the increasing cases of Omicron, restrictions have started in many countries of the world as a precaution, due to which it is very difficult to shoot the film everywhere.
The film also stars Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, Ian McShane and Laurence Fishburne. The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. Its writers are Michael Finch and Shay Hatten. The first three films of this franchise grossed $5.8 billion (about Rs 4,360 crore) worldwide. All three films were directed by Chad Stahelski. Now the director is back again with John Wick: Chapter 4.
As mentioned earlier, John Wick: Chapter 4 was earlier to be released on 27 May 2022. The film was to clash with Top Gun: Maverick on this date. Now that John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated to release on March 24, 2023, Deadline reports that it could clash with the George Foreman biopic that Sony Pictures is producing.
