According to data shared by TRAI, the number of wireless subscribers of Jio has increased to 415 million, while that of Airtel has increased to 348.33 million and Vi’s to 282.62 million.
Reliance Jio
After lagging behind Bharti Airtel for 6 consecutive months, finally Jio has once again taken the lead. The number of subscribers of Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company, increased to 41.49 crore in February. The company added 42 lakh new customers during the month. Telecom regulator TRAI gave this information.
In this month, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, all three private telecom companies added new customers. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Bharti Airtel added 3.73 lakh subscribers in the month of February and its number reached 34.83 crores. At the same time, Vodafone Idea added 6.5 lakh new customers in February after several months. With this, the number of customers of the company increased to 28.26 crores. The company was continuously losing customers in the last 16 months.
Vodafone Idea lost 2.28 million wireless subscribers in January. The company’s number was revisited last month as the company had given incorrect information that it had added 1.7 million subscribers in January. But after admitting the mistake, TRAI revisited the numbers which revealed that the company had lost 2.28 million subscribers.
According to data shared by TRAI, the number of wireless subscribers of Jio has increased to 415 million while that of Airtel is 348.33 million. Apart from this, the number of subscribers of Vodafone Idea has increased to 282.62 million. However, BSNL has lost 361,088 subscribers and now its number of subscribers is 118.33 million.
Exercise to convert 2G customers to 4G continues
Talking about wireless broadband users, Jio’s base was only 415 million. Airtel stood at 185.22 million and Vodafone Idea’s 123.27 million. Once again, the fight over 4G users continues. Reliance has started the process of attracting 2G customers by relaunching JioPhone.
If we talk about the present time, there are a total of 300 million 2G customers who are using the network of Airtel, BSNL or Vodafone Idea, which can be converted to 4G. Reliance is giving JioPhone only Rs 1999 in which you will get everything free for two years. Along with this, to entice customers, the company is also running a plan of 1499 rupees, in which everything will be free for one year.
Right now customers have also been competing for switching to 4G, which is why MNP has also increased rapidly in the last few months. 11.68 million MNP requests have been recorded in February.
Live ahead in terms of wireless broadband service
If you talk about wireless broadband service, Reliance Jio has added the most users. This has happened due to fiber connectivity. Jio added 180,000 wireline broadband users in February, while Airtel added 90,000 users. Apart from this, BSNL has lost 870,000 wireline users. In February, BSNL’s wireline broadband base stood at 6.62 million, Airtel’s 2.99 million, Jio 2.43 million, ACT’s 1.82 million and Hathway Cable’s 1.07 million.
