Reliance Jio has once again won the average 4G download speed. Jio’s download speed has been higher than all other companies. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data for September, the average download speed of Jio was recorded at 19.3 megabits per second (mbps). Idea Cellular Network (now Vodafone Idea) is second in terms of download speed with 8.6 Mbps. At the same time, in the matter of upload speed, Vodafone has been at the forefront with 6.5 Mbps in this case.
According to the latest data of TRAI on October 10, the download speed of Vodafone was recorded at 7.9 Mbps and Bharti Airtel’s 7.5 Mbps. Although the mobile business of Vodafone and Idea has merged, but TRAI has assessed their performance differently. Consolidation of the network of both companies is still going on. Prior to this report, last month, private company OpenSignal released a study based on 49 cities in which Bharti Airtel was declared the most down speed company.
Jio’s download speed increased by 21%
The average speed calculation by TRAI is done with the data collected on real time basis with the help of MySpeed application. According to TRAI data, the average speed of all private telecom operators has increased in September compared to August. Reliance Jio Network’s download speed increased by 21 per cent to 19.3 Mbps in September. This is 3.4 Mbps more than in August.
Reliance Jio’s 4G download speed was 15.9 Mbps in August. According to TRAI, the performance of Bharti Airtel has also improved in September. The download speed on Airtel’s network has improved from 7 per cent to 7.5 Mbps in September. On Vodafone and Idea’s network, down speed has improved by 1-3 per cent.
Vodafone top in upload speed
Content can be downloaded from various apps at download speed. At the same time, photos and videos can be shared with upload speed. Vodafone has been at the forefront with 6.5 Mbps in terms of upload speed. Idea’s average upload speed is 6.4 Mbps, with both Bharti Airtel and Jio Network 3.5 Mbps.
