After winning the Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge in 2020 organized by the Government of India, Koo has received appreciation from all. It was also nominated Google Playstore’s Best Daily Essentials App for 2020.
Koo is an Indian app
India’s multi-language micro-blogging app Koo has crossed the 1 crore (10 million) downloads mark, registering a huge growth since its launch in March 2020 (just 18 months). The platform also includes some prominent faces like film stars, politicians, players, writers, journalists – sharing their updates in eight languages and connecting with their followers every day.
Koo is now available in 8 languages including Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali and English. Developed with a vision to put India first, the platform has introduced several technical features that enable more Indians to engage in online conversations, empowering them to express themselves independently through the platform.
Ku helps to create a deep connection within different language communities by helping users with common interest in the same language to search. Ku will release many facilities for Indians in the next few months.
‘Ku’ is planning to move ahead even faster
A spokesperson for Koo said, “Koo was started with the dream of creating a digital platform where millions of Indians can freely express their views and share their views in their preferred language. Ever since we launched in March 2020, the response has been encouraging. Koo has achieved 1 crore downloads so far. Our growth in the future will be at an even faster rate than what we have experienced in the recent past. We are humbled and excited to pave the way for our home-grown digital companies to go global as India aspires to realize the dream of ‘Atmanirbhar Digital India’, uniting the nation through technology and languages. “
