EGVAC President RS Sharma said that the data of CoWIN is not shared with any entity outside the system. He further added that, “Our attention has been drawn to the news circulating on social media about the alleged hacking of the CoWIN system. In this regard, we would like to point out that CoWIN stores all vaccination data in a safe and secure digital environment.”

According to the government’s API Setu website, “The accessibility will be limited and in case of any misuse affecting the performance of the CoWIN solution, any such applications and entities may be blocked as per MoHFW (Ministry of Health) policies and Any other appropriate action may be taken as per law.”
