Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the government provides cheap food grains through the Public Distribution System (PDS) to more than 81 crore people at Rs 1-3 per kg. The government is also offering ‘One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC)’ ration card portability service in 32 states and union territories.

The secretary said that under the key features, migrant beneficiaries can register their migration details through the mobile app. Migrant beneficiaries can register themselves before starting their journey and the system will automatically allocate foodgrains quotas. Apart from this, NFSA beneficiaries can identify the nearest fair price shop, they can easily know the details of their food grains, view the details of last six months transactions and the status of Aadhaar seeding.
